What We Can Learn from LEGO Toys?


In the past two years, many people have been astonished to the expanding of Lego, one of  the largest educational toys brand in the world currently which the once nearly bankrupted company had seemed to be its peak suddenly. Relied on its traditional toy, it improved itself gradually among the competition, which it even has occupied the Asia market. In the past year, 50% of the increased profit has come from China, which Hasbro and Mattel failed to achieve it. The popularity of Lego’s construction toy, to some extent, has relations with that Asia market highly emphasized the puzzle games. Compared with those entertaining toys, puzzle toys are more popular among parents. The creativity and entertainment brought by construction toys make the remote control toys and electronics toys much more overwhelmed. In a world, creativity gives vivid life to the toy industry.

Set up in 1932, until 1993 Lego’s sales were still increased by 14%. However, when it comes to 1994, its sales stagnated and it started to rethink their marketing way. What’s worse, the competitive market makes Lego Company border on bankrupting. After making some improvements, Lego made the decision to come back to its construction toys lean production.  The key point for these smart toys or interactive toys is the creativity and scientific technology, which proves to be true.
 
Creativity is only one soul spirit in Lego toys. The multiple construction toys fill in the scene dreamt in many adults’ heart. Usually some simple Lego construction bricks could make a new scene, which this creativity is a very important hint in Lego R&D. in the development of Lego, making full use of bricks building and the scientific aspects turn their toys more and more creative and interactive. Although its products are still the traditional bricks, it could still occupy a comparatively large market share.

All in all, creativity comes first in toy industry. The development of toy enterprise mostly replied on that their kids products could catch people’s eyes for a long term on market, and then turned to classical products while Lego’s brick is a symbol of times. Every year it will issue figure toy, which would be collected by many Lego fans, not only kids, instead, it is some Lego fans who grew up along with Lego. This is the appealing of Brand Lego
